An Austrian man accused of being involved in the failed attack on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna is reportedly facing execution in Saudi Arabia. According to recent reports, the 21-year-old man is on trial for alleged terrorist acts and is said to be on death row.The 21-year-old suspect, known only as Hasan E under Austria’s strict privacy laws, is accused of killing people in the Saudi city of Mecca in March 2024, the Daily Mail reports. Prosecutors say the attack, which left five people injured, was carried out by Hasan on behalf of ISIS.According to reports, Hasan E was arrested on March 11, 2024, the day he allegedly stabbed people. He was later linked to a group of extremists that authorities believe included people linked to an attack planned for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert in Vienna. During his trial, Saudi Arabian courts are said to have heard evidence relating to Hasan E’s alleged links to the terrorist group responsible for the failed terrorist attack in Austria in August 2024.According to the report, investigators say Hasan E conspired with Beran A, who was later convicted for his role in the Vienna concert plot, and Arda K, who is suspected of being a member of an extremist group. Later, Beran A was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his participation in the organized protests, which would have resulted in many casualties.Officials also say that Hasan E had a close relationship with Beran A, and that he was an ‘old school friend’ and a ‘jihadist mentor’.Arda K was not charged with involvement in the Vienna concert attack but was sentenced to 12 years in prison for her role in a suspected jihadist cell.According to prosecutors, the group discussed carrying out attacks in several locations, including Istanbul and Dubai. However, it is said that the plans were abandoned before they could be implemented.Reports indicate that Hasan E has repeatedly requested to go to Austria while awaiting trial in Saudi Arabia. However, the efforts are said to have been unsuccessful.The verdict against Hasan E is expected tomorrow. If found guilty, he could be executed.
