Pankaj Tripathi rushed to Patna after his elder brother, Vijendra Nath Tiwari, was attacked with an ax in Bihar’s Gopalganj district following a land dispute.The incident reportedly took place on Sunday evening in Belsand village under Madhopur police station. According to the police, Tiwari suffered multiple injuries after being hit with a sharp weapon and was admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital before being referred to Patna for special treatment.Sources close to the family revealed that Pankaj had come to Patna to be close to his brother. “Pankaj has arrived in Patna to see his brother. He is not fit to speak at this time because of the situation,” a person close to the family was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times, adding that while Vijayendranath was injured several times, his condition is now stable and not life-threatening.

According to PTI, the police said the attack was a result of a land dispute that had started earlier. Director General (Law and Order) Sudhanshu Kumar said Vijendra Nath Tiwari was attacked with an ax due to a property dispute in the village.Investigators have arrested another neighbor, Rajesh Shah, for the crime. The Gopalganj police chief confirmed that a forensic team visited the crime scene and recovered a weapon allegedly containing blood-stained clothes allegedly belonging to the accused.

Regarding the investigation, Sadar SDPO-2 Rajesh Kumar said Tiwari was filling dirt near his house when he allegedly attacked him from behind.“The previous dispute was over land. Vijendra Nath Tiwari was filling dirt near his house when the accused attacked him from behind using an ax and a sharp weapon. The victim is being treated in Patna. The matter is being investigated, and all those involved in the attack, including the main accused, will soon be jailed,” he was quoted as saying by IANS.Authorities have launched a raid to nab some of the alleged fugitives. Police have confirmed that those found guilty will be dealt with as investigations continue.
