Kawasaki India has updated the KLX 230 motorcycle for the Indian market in 2027. The company has also introduced the new KLX230 S model. In addition, the KLX230 model now has three variants – the regular KLX230, the new KLX230 S and the KLX230R S. Interested customers can book customized motorcycles online or visit their nearest dealership. The KLX 230 will continue to be offered in two color options – Lime Green and Battle Grey.

The KLX230R S is now priced at Rs 1.89 lakh, while both the KLX230 and the newly launched KLX230 S are priced at Rs 2.19 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The standard KLX230 has received a significant price hike, going up from Rs 1.84 lakh to Rs 2.19 lakh, while the KLX230R S is now Rs 10,000 more expensive than before. Deliveries of the KLX230R S are expected to begin in mid-August 2026, while the KLX230 and KLX230 S are set to reach customers from mid-September.The newly launched KLX230 S shares its engine and mechanical package with the standard KLX230 but has been designed with a lower seat height. At 830 mm, its seat is 50 mm lower than the 880 mm unit on the standard model. To achieve this, Kawasaki has reduced the suspension travel to 160 mm at the front and 163 mm at the rear, compared to 220 mm and 223 mm, respectively, on the KLX230. The ground clearance has also been lowered from 255 mm to 220 mm.

The KLX230R S, which is more of a road-focused model, omits road-legal equipment such as the headlamp for quick installation. It has a seat height of 900 mm and 270 mm of ground clearance. Powering the entire range of the 2027 KLX230 is a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, petrol engine that produces 19 hp at 7,800 rpm and 19 Nm of torque at 6,200 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox on all three models.
