After watching the short film himself, Aju Varghese encouraged Vineeth Sreenivasan to watch it. Vineeth later saw the project and appreciated Basil’s efforts. When Basil expressed interest in working as an assistant director, Vineeth responded cautiously. He said, “Let’s see, I’m not doing any new movies right now.” At that time, there was no immediate opportunity, but a connection had been established.
Eight months of waiting
Basil returned to his full-time job while continuing to live his filmmaking dream. Several months passed without clear instructions. Then, one ordinary day, he received a message on Facebook Messenger from Vineeth Sreenivasan. It said, “Do you still want to help me?” Then Basil explained that this was a well-known moment in his life, and he called it “the news that changed my life.”
The first meeting
What followed was true magic. Conference in Chennai. Vineeth came unstuck in three quarters with an i20. Basil and his friends appeared in turbans, holding biryani and fried mutton on the beach.
