Controversy rages over Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) assistant professor recruitment exam, Artificial Intelligence ADMK Calls for an independent and thorough investigation into the recently released results.TRB on June 25 announced the results of the written examination for the recruitment of 2,708 assistant professors in government arts and science colleges. AIADMK general secretary in a statement on Sunday Edappadi K Palaniswami Claims of widespread irregularities in the assessment of descriptive essays.“The report shows that 42 candidates who scored extremely well in the objective section got ‘0’ marks in the descriptive essay, while 106 candidates got only ‘1’ mark. Notably, a candidate from the Tamil department scored 111 out of 150 marks in the objective test but got zero marks in the essay section. “He further claimed that some candidates who scored poorly in the objective paper scored as high as 49 out of 50 in the descriptive section, which significantly changed the final merit ranking.“This clearly reflects the inconsistency and bias in the evaluation process,” the former chief minister said while questioning the evaluation process, adding that it was difficult to understand how a candidate who scored more than 100 marks in the objective paper could score zero in the description section and vice versa. He also alleged that years of mismanagement had left more than 50% of assistant professorships and several key posts vacant. He claimed that this resulted in a decline in higher education enrollment to 47% from 51.4% during the AIADMK government in 2019-20.The party urged the Tamil Nadu government to immediately cancel the TRB assistant professor examination results and order a comprehensive independent inquiry into the alleged irregularities. It also calls for strict legal action against anyone found guilty of wrongdoing. The recruitment examination was conducted in December last year after a gap of nearly 25 years. According to TRB sources, a total of 42,064 candidates appeared for the exam, which included an objective section of 150 marks and a descriptive essay of 50 marks.
