The latest NBW was issued on June 12 following a petition filed by Bengaluru-based advocate K. Dilip Kumar. According to Live Law, the court noted that Prakash Raj did not appear before it even though he had the chance to be repeated. Previous invitations were said to have been given to the player, followed by clearances where he did not attend. In the absence of a record, the court decided to issue a non-bailable warrant and proceed with the case. The matter will come up again at the hearing which will be held on July 25.
The case relates to alleged mass registration
The case pertains to allegations that Prakash Raj’s name appeared in electoral districts. According to the complaint, apart from being registered as a voter in Bengaluru’s Shanthinagar Assembly constituency, his name also appeared in elections in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and Serilingampally in Telangana. This was followed by charges against the party under certain sections of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
Court proceedings continue ahead of the July hearing
Records show that summonses were issued to the actors after the court took up the case. After the summons failed to be served, the court issued its first non-issued order on March 17, 2026. The order was issued again in April and in June Prakash Raj did not appear in court. With the latest order, the case is still being heard by the court.
