His strong social media presence has also helped boost his net worth. Speaking to News18, he explains how money comes into play when choosing a career. “Money is very important, it gives you respect. When I ask for what I deserve today, sometimes I get it, sometimes I don’t and sometimes it’s less than what I tell myself. But har kisi ko apne haq ke liye ladna chahiye. I work hard and have gone through a lot to reach where I am today,” explains Shehnaaz.Gone are the days when Shehnaazi started work without asking for money. He explains why that has changed, saying, “Yes, there was a time when I did a lot of work for free. Koma uski mujhe izzat nahi mili. Maine logo ke liye itna kuch kiya hai! But now, I fight for what I deserve. I compromise only when the film I am given is really good.”The actor adds, “When it comes to films, I don’t let money come in. I know I can get money from sales, endorsements and events. For me, cinema is a pure and precious medium. Main bahot tareeke se films choose karti hoon.” But is there something they want to learn to get ahead in the industry? “I can’t convince people to put me in a position. Some people have more power to convince. That’s what I want to learn,” says Shehnaaz. What he is proud of, however, is his refusal to take on big films that don’t give him enough to do. “I don’t want to be in a film just for the sake of beauty. I don’t want to be used as an agent,” she says.
