Veteran action director Sham Kaushal has opened up about the joy of becoming a grandfather, saying that son Vihaan has changed his life and that the little one is the spitting image of his father, Vicky Kaushal.

In an interview with India Today, 70-year-old Sham Kaushal also spoke about his relationship with his grandson Vihaan, born to Vicky Kaushal as well. Katrina Kaif on November 7, 2025. The proud grandfather said the baby has brought new joy into his life.He said: “He has changed my life. Whenever I’m busy with work and I can’t hug him physically, I video chat with him several times and talk to him. He’s very good. I thank God as much as I can.”When asked if Vihaan takes Vicky or Katrina, Sham had a clear answer. He said, “I think she looks like Vicky.”

Sham Kaushal also reflected on how lucky he is to have the family he has today. He said: “There are many parents in the world who have been blessed by their children. I am one of them.”
Sham Kaushal has no plans to retire
Despite his sons urging him to cut back, Sham has shown no intention of giving up. “They keep telling me to quit my job. But what if I don’t work? I’ve been working since I was nine years old. What if I just have tea and breakfast?” He said while laughing.He also said that his relationship with work has changed over the years. He said: “At first I was working insecurely. I had to take care of my family and my children. Now I am in a safe place. I don’t have to worry about money.”

Earlier this year, Vicky and Katrina gave the paparazzi their first glimpse of Vihaan during a visit at the Mumbai airport. While Katrina asked not to be photographed holding the baby, the couple allowed photographers to meet Vihaan, marking the baby’s first appearance on social media.
