Re-NEET UG Result 2026: NTA says to announce on July 20 - Report
NEET UG results to be regained before July 20; academic session starts on time: NTA official

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the results of the re-NEET UG 2026 exam will be announced on July 20. Although the agency is yet to announce a specific date, senior NTA officials said that the work is being carried out in full swing so that the results can be announced at the earliest, ANI reported. The official also assured students that the delay caused by the re-examination will not affect the commencement of the MBBS academic course. The NEET UG exam was re-conducted on June 21 after the May 3 exam, which was attended by over 2 million candidates, was canceled over allegations of question paper leakage.“We don’t want to reveal any date yet, but the results will be announced before July 20. Normally, the results are announced within 45 days after the exam, but this time, since we conducted the exam within 37 days, we will announce the results earlier,” the official said.Provisional answers were announced on June 25, and candidates had until June 28 to raise objections. According to the official, around 10,000 queries were submitted by aspirants. The agency is currently reviewing each objection and then preparing final answers and results.“We need to look at all the challenges one by one, examine the supporting evidence and respond to each one,” the official added. The NTA also said that despite the re-examination, the MBBS academic courses will start as scheduled. However, the tutoring schedule has not yet been announced. After the NEET UG results are announced, the Medical Consultative Committee (MCC) will release the counseling schedule for 15% All India Quota (AIQ), AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities and recognized universities. The state authorities will separately announce the consultation schedule for the remaining 85% state quota seats.During the tutoring period, candidates need to register online, pay tutoring fees, and fill in their favorite colleges and courses. Seats are allotted based on NEET level, category, booking rules, preference and seat availability. Candidates who are offered seats must report to their allotted institute for document verification and admission. The consultation process is usually conducted in multiple rounds before the start of the new semester, including the first round, the second round, the sweeper round and the wandering vacancy round.Meanwhile, some states, including Tamil Nadu, have started preparations for the admission process while awaiting NEET UG results.
