As fans await the release of the much awaited ‘Ramayana‘ trailer, director of the film, Nitesh Tiwari and leaders, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, helped build excitement around the fantasy world at San Diego Comic-Con. Talking about the film, director Tiwari teased fans that the film, which is slated to release in Diwali 2026, will make them count the days until Diwali 2027.
‘Ramayana’ having ‘Baahubali ‘-style ending
In an interview with IGN, the director revealed that ‘Ramayana Part 1’ will end with a ‘cliffhanger’. Regarding the decision to split the story into two films, Tiwari said, “Where we leave part one is something that, you can call it a cliffhanger, which will make people want to watch the second part right after they leave the theater.”The filmmaker explained, “Its story deserves two parts and we can’t tell it in just one. We just thought it might be the best part that we can leave one part and leave the rest.”
The trailer of ‘Ramayana’ is all set to release
The announcement came at the film’s press conference on July 24, where the team, including producer Namit Malhotra, shared exclusive images from the film and interacted with fans. The project has caused quite a stir after its Comic-Con presentation, where attendees were shown footage of the video.Videos released on the occasion, especially the one featuring Yash as Ravana, went viral on social media, creating excitement among fans. The official trailer of the film was supposed to be released on July 24, after the Comic-Con premiere, however, the makers announced a delay in the release of the trailer after Sony Pictures came in to handle the worldwide distribution of the film outside of India.

The film boasts of an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, while Yash essays the role of Ravana. Players also include Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Kunal Kapoor as Indra Dev, Arun Govil as Dashrath, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva.
‘Ramayana’ trailer linked with ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
Meanwhile, rumors are rife that the film’s trailer will finally drop online this week, ahead of the release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which is also sponsored by Sony Pictures. According to online news, the trailer will be linked to the blockbuster film, and will enjoy a worldwide release on July 30.
