Namit Malhotra’s mythological epic ‘Ramayana‘ is rewriting the company’s records even before its theatrical release. The film, which is said to have a 4,000 crore budget, with a $40 million marketing budget, is now locked in a lucrative deal for its music rights.According to reports, the makers, were initially looking at Rs 100 crore for the worldwide music rights. Pinkvilla also said that the team is aiming to break the record of Rs 100 crore for the first installment of the franchise. If it could, it would be the highest free music score of any Hindi film.With music by Academy Award winners AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, the project has reportedly attracted interest from major music labels, including T-Series, Sony Music, Saregama and Universal Music. Now, according to Hindustan Times reports, after several negotiations, T-Series has finally bagged the audio rights with an advance of Rs 75 crore for both the films.According to the report, a close associate of T-Series confirmed the development, saying, “T-Series has acquired the music rights of Ramayana. Bhushan Kumar and the senior management at T-Series are very confident about the potential of the film’s music.” The source also revealed, “As part of this arrangement, T-Series has paid Rs 75 crore for the music rights. This amount covers the music of all parts of Ramayana.“Meanwhile, the makers have also announced the revised date of the film’s trailer. It will now release worldwide on July 30 at 4:15 am IST, after postponing its first date of July 24. The release of the trailer was delayed after the film entered into a worldwide distribution deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment.Announcing the new date on social media, the team wrote, “On the auspicious occasion of brahma muhurat, we welcome the dawn of Ramayana with our trailer on 30 July 2026, Thursday, 4:15 am IST worldwide.”Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The first part of the two-part epic is expected to release in Diwali 2026, and the sequel is expected to arrive in Diwali 2027.
