The local government department of Rajasthan has released the official notification for Rajasthan Safai Karamchari recruitment 2026. The recruitment drive will fill over 24,000 contractual Safai Karamchari (sanitation worker) posts in 183 urban local bodies (ULBs) in the state.One of the highlights of this recruitment is that no academic qualifications are required. Candidates who have never attended school may also apply if they meet the required work experience criteria. Since there are no academic requirements, there will be no written test or interview during selection.The online application process will begin on August 15, 2026.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for Rajasthan Safai Karamchari Recruitment 2026 must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Rajasthan.
- No educational qualifications required.
- Candidates should be physically and mentally fit.
- Applicants must have at least one year of sanitation work experience.
- One year of experience can be continuous or a combination of different periods.
- Candidates with experience in sanitation work in any urban local body of Rajasthan are eligible to apply.
- The experience certificate must be issued by the competent authority specified in the notification.
- Each candidate can apply to only one urban local body out of the 183 participating bodies.
age limitCandidates must be 21 years of age or older as of January 1, 2027, and must not be older than 40 years of age.According to government regulations, the age can be relaxed:
- Male candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weak Sections (EWS) categories who are permanent residents of Rajasthan will be given relaxed benefits for five years.
- Women who are permanent residents of Rajasthan will get 5 years of relaxation.
- Women in SC, ST, OBC, Most Backward Class (MBC) and EWS categories who are permanent residents of Rajasthan will get 10 years of relaxation.
Selection process
There will be no written test or interview.The selection will be made through a lottery system conducted separately for each urban local body. Preference will be given to candidates with one year of sanitation experience in relevant urban local bodies. If there are not enough qualified candidates, applicants with experience in other urban local bodies will be considered for the lottery process.
Application fee
Candidates must pay the application fee according to their category:
- General (without booking): Rs 600
- Reserved Category Candidates: Rs.400
- Person with Disability (PwD): Rs 400
The application link will be live on the official recruitment portal from August 15, 2026, after which eligible candidates can complete the online application process and pay the required fees.
