Prithviraj Sukumaran will be playing the lead singer in SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film ‘Varanasi’ Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra. While the film is currently in production, the Malayalam actor shared some fun moments from the cast.‘Varanasi’ being an international entertainer helmed by the visionary director of ‘RRR’ is being shot in various locations across the world. Prithviraj Sukumaran recently revealed that in some scenes with Mahesh Babu it took almost a day to shoot because Rajamouli was not satisfied with the results.
One shot took about 100 takes
Talking about the incident, Prithviraj Sukumaran said, “This is not an exaggeration. For one scene of the film, Mahesh Babu and I started shooting in the morning. I’m not sure if it was taken in 94 or 97. We started work in the morning and came in at lunch break, because they didn’t shoot well. Just when we thought we would have a second meal, they invite us to come back. We started again and it continued till 6.30 pm or 7 pm.“Even though it took a lot, Rajamouli was still not happy with the shoot. He asked both of them to come back the next day and take the same photo.Further talking about the ‘Baahubali’ director, Prithviraj Sukumaran called him the “hardest working director” he has ever worked with. He said the photographer always arrived at the shooting location earlier than anyone else.

He said that when the actor arrived for the shoot at 7 o’clock, Rajamouli had already completed several rehearsals with his assistants. He also did the camera setup and completed the preparations before the actors arrived.SS Rajamouli also told Prithviraj Sukumaran that he had been there since 5.15 am when the actor asked him. When Kumbha’s actor in the film asked to come back soon, the director only asked him to tell when he had planned to call him. He said that Rajamouli was often the last person to leave and even the lunch break lasted only 20 minutes.
