After doing a good job in Tamil and Telugu cinema, GV Prakash Kumar is now gearing up for an important new chapter in Bollywood. The singer has directed the entire song ‘Nayi Naveli,’ produced by Anandi L Rai directed by Balaji Mohan. Although GV Prakash has previously contributed to Hindi cinema through projects like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur,’ this is said to be the first time he has made a full album for a Hindi film. The project has already generated interest among music lovers who are eager to hear his work in a new market.
The singer says that ‘Nayi Naveli’ songs are in safe hands
Speaking about the project to Variety India, GV Prakash expressed confidence in the film and its music. “I had worked in Gangs of Wasseypur earlier because of my friendship with Anurag Kashyap, but ‘Nayi Naveli’ is my first Indian album,” he said. He added, “I am composing all the music for the film, and I hope it will look good.” The composer was also full of praise for the great actor Yami Gautam. “Yami expresses emotions amazingly on screen. When an actor can express emotions naturally, the composer has confidence that the music is in safe hands,” he explained.
GV Prakash believes that music is not related to language
GV Prakash also shared his thoughts on working in different film industries. According to him, making Hindi films is no different from making Tamil music or Telugu cinema. “Every film is difficult for me. Language does not change my approach,” he said. “I write every song as if it were my first project.” The composer also spoke about the importance of traditional film music. “Lip sync songs have a unique look. I strongly believe that it helps music connect with the audience and become a blockbuster,” he said.
GV Prakash responds to rumors of fines
The songstress also addressed the frequent discussions about her paychecks for movies. “People often think I pay a lot of money, but that’s not true,” he said. “My money depends on the size of the project. For small films, I charge accordingly, and for big productions, the budget is naturally different.” Looking back on his nearly decade-long career, GV Prakash said he approaches every song with fresh energy. Having already composed music for more than 120 films, he hopes to continue this journey and create more memorable songs in the years to come.
