Madonna has admitted that her famous career in high heels has made her uncomfortable. The 67-year-old recently discussed her fitness routine and the changes she’s been forced to make due to knee damage from years of dancing.Speaking to Interview Magazine, Madonna was candid about the wear and tear on her body throughout her career. The Queen of Pop explained that she no longer works every day due to the damage to her knee, which she directly explains the demands of her work and education.
Madonna’s knee injury is the beginning
“I have a bad knee now. I have no cartilage in it, because of dancing too long in high heels and running on the floor and doing Ashtanga yoga,” Madonna told the publication. He went on to explain that until recently, he had an intense workout routine that was causing a lot of stress on his bones.“Until a year ago, I was jumping on trampolines and doing cardio dance and doing a lot of what the doctor would call stretching my bones,” she said. “I can’t do that anymore.”Despite the injury, Madonna continued to prioritize her health and fitness, even though she underwent surgery to protect her sprained knee.
Madonna has had to deal with public issues with a knee injury
The singer has been open about her physical struggles in the past, allowing her fans to understand how her fitness affects her body. In October 2019, Madonna was forced to cancel the performance of her Madame X show which was scheduled to take place in Brooklyn. He spoke freely to his audience through social media.“It is difficult for Madame to accept that she is also a human being made of flesh and blood, and she must rest for the next three days while her knee heals,” he wrote. “I’m not a quitter. This is hurting me more than you can imagine. It’s time to take off the heels and their nets for a few days!”

A month later, Madonna was forced to cancel three more shows due to medical reasons. “Please forgive this unexpected change. Playing my game every night brings me a lot of joy, and the ban is a kind of punishment for me,” he said at the time. He added that the physical pain he is experiencing requires rest and professional advice.“The pain I have now is great, and I have to rest and follow the doctor’s advice so that I can come back stronger and continue the journey of Madame and all of you,” he said.
Madonna continues to recover and rehabilitate
Although Madonna never mentioned how her pain happened during the 2019 ban, she later shared details about her recovery on social media. The ‘Like a Prayer’ singer posted photos showing her “regular Ice Bath due to multiple injuries” and thanked her fans, calling them her “gang” for serving as her “gym group.”Over the years of her career, Madonna has danced to famous songs such as ‘Material Girl’, ‘Express Yourself’, ‘Frozen’, ‘Ray of Light’, and many others that require extreme dancing and running in tight shoes.
