‘Jana Nayagan’ is the official Tamil adaptation of Balayya’s ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’. The film stars Thalapathy Vijay as Vetri Kondan, a former IPS officer who takes on the role of his last friend’s daughter. He inspires the girl to overcome her past difficulties and fulfill her dream of joining the Indian Army.Apart from Vijay, the cast includes Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Priamand Mitha Baiju in senior positions.

The digital rights of this movie have been a matter of opinion for months. Earlier trade reports had suggested that Prime Video was in talks to acquire the advertising rights for around Rs 110 crore. However, the said deal fell through after long delays in the film’s release and a leak that reportedly affected its digital inventory.Following this, NDTV reports that ZEE5 was in talks with a budget of Rs 50 crore. Despite the speculation, the manufacturers have not officially confirmed these reports.
‘Jana Nayagan’ opens well at the international box office
The film has registered for the opening of the ticket office. According to Sacnilk’s preliminary estimates, ‘Jana Nayagan’ collected Rs 41 crore in India on its first day.The film was shown in 13,067 screens across the country. It grossed Rs 48.27 crore in India, while overseas markets contributed Rs 30 crore. As a result, the film’s worldwide collection reached Rs 78.27 crore on Day 1.The Tamil version was the biggest contributor with Rs 36.50 crore nett, followed by Rs 2.75 crore from the Telugu version and Rs 1.75 crore from the Hindi version. In all languages, the film captured 41.6% audience, with Tamil leading the way.
