With ‘Jana Nayagan’ he finally reached the theatres, the ‘Bandar’ actor Bobby Deol has opened up about her experience of sharing the screen space with Vijay. The film is a milestone in Vijay’s career, as it is considered to be his last time as an actor before focusing on his political role as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.In a recent interview Bobby opened up about Vijay’s personality. Despite the superstar’s popularity in Tamil, Bobby said what impressed him the most was Vijay’s calm and composed demeanor. According to the actor, his co-star preferred to keep a low profile and was kept under wraps throughout. Describing Vijay, Bobby in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter said, “a very simple person. Very quiet, very humble,” adding that it was interesting to see someone with such a high profile remain humble and composed.

Bobby also spoke about the challenges of filming with one of the biggest names in Tamil cinema. He revealed that a major part of “Jana Nayagan” was shot on specially built sets instead of public places as Vijay’s presence attracted a lot of people. Explaining the situation, Bobby said: “It’s true. He also revealed that language is sometimes a problem while filming because he doesn’t know Tamil very well. However, Bobby said that director H. Vinoth made sure that communication remains easy by explaining the scenes and dialogues when needed. Because of this, the filming of the film went on without any major hurdles even though there was no language problem.”
It reflects the culture of South Indian cinema fans
Having worked in Telugu cinema through ‘Daaku Maharaaj’, Bobby said he has seen firsthand the incredible devotion South Indians have for their favorite artists. According to him, the bond between actors and fans is unlike anything he has experienced elsewhere. Speaking of the local film industry, he said, “there they worship actors.” He added, “It’s amazing that they are together in the film industry.Recalling his experience at the Celebrity Cricket League, Bobby recalled seeing stadiums packed with fans arriving in busloads to cheer on their favourites, including Mohanlal. He believes that this kind of support reflects the strong connection that audiences share with South Indian cinema.
He shares memorable conversations with Vijay
Bobby also recalled one of his brief interactions with Vijay during the making of ‘Jana Nayagan’. Although the two actors did not spend much time together, one conversation remained with him. He shared, “The other day he told me that he has done one of my films. I think it was Soldier (‘Villu’).”
Vijay goes for a private test before being released
Hours before “Jana Nayagan” opened in theatres, Vijay reportedly watched the movie at a special screening held at the Tagore Film Center in Adyar, Chennai. According to reports, members of the Tamil Nadu Secretariat, state officials and police attended the private demonstration along with the Prime Minister. Directed by H. Vinoth, ‘Jana Nayagan’ also stars Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Bobby Deol in important roles.
