Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh‘s ‘Satluj’ also stars Arjun Rampal it was finally released on OTT after much controversy and trouble with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film is being released directly on the digital platform after the CBFC said 120 crores. But now just two days after its release on Zee5, the film has been pulled and is now unavailable in India. Soon after the OTT platform announced that the film has been removed from their platform, Diljit has now taken a strong action. The 42-year-old shared the film on Instagram with the message, “I resist darkness.” Originally made as ‘Punjab 95’, the film is based on the life of human rights coordinator Jaswant Singh Khalra.Diljit’s Instagram posts are written in Punjabi. Translated into English, it read: “#ichallenthedarkness. Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra Ji. #Punjab95. Satluj is what happened to Khalra Saab.” The streaming platform also talked about the cancellation of the film through social media posts. The platform said, “At Zee 5, we stand firmly with Satluj and the creative vision behind it. We believe that powerful stories have the power to inspire, endure and leave a lasting impact. We are committed to promoting authentic and meaningful stories.” Without explaining why the film is not available in India, they added, “As per the current situation, Satluj will not be available in India till further notice. We are committed to explore every possible way through the right channel to bring this film to our audience as soon as possible. ” They concluded the statement with the words, “Our commitment to creators and stories told with conviction, craftsmanship and purpose is unwavering.”The caption of the post reads, “Satluj may have paused. But the conversation hasn’t started. Thank you for the wonderful love. We hope to see you again soon.”Earlier on Sunday, former cricketer and Member of Parliament, Harbhajan Singh, declared that the film is a must watch.Recently, in an interview, Diljit explained how the film was a struggle. He said while talking to Variety India, “It is one of the most challenging films I have ever done in my career. Emotionally and physically, it brought everything out of all of us. There were long days, difficult conditions and big events. But in the end, it was the nature of the story that stuck with me the most. I think this is probably the first film in my career that made me recover after filming.He added, “Once the film is wrapped, I move fast because I don’t like to rest. However, after this film, I had to take a week to process everything I went through and portray Jaswant Singh Khalra.” The experiences, feelings, and parts of the person continued, so it took me a while to let go of that. “Director Honey Trehan and the producers have maintained that the film is based on scripted events. The controversy also affected its festival tour, with the film being pulled before its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film also features Kanwaljit Singh, Suvinder Vicky and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan in lead roles, apart from Diljit and Arjun.
