The consultation process is likely to begin on August 7, allowing candidates to register, fill in their preferred university and course options and lock in their choice.The results of the first round of seat allocation are expected to be announced in mid-August. Candidates allocated a quota must report to their institution before August 31, 2026 and go through the admission procedures.The consultation will cover 15 per cent of all-India quota seats and seats in other categories under the jurisdiction of the MCC, while the remaining 85 per cent of state quota seats will be filled through separate consultations by state authorities.

Health minister reviews consultation readiness

Ahead of the consultation process, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda chaired a high-level review meeting on July 29 to assess the readiness of the admission process.During the meeting, the minister reviewed the proposed consultation timetable, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity arrangements, grievance redressal mechanism, candidate support system and coordination with participating medical institutions.He directed officials to ensure that every stage of the counseling process remains fair, transparent, merit-based and free from disruption, with special emphasis on providing a smooth experience to candidates.

MCC provides counseling for 15% all-India quota seats in all medical and dental colleges in India.
