Local fire officials were called to Chuck Russell’s home Wednesday afternoon after receiving a medical report of a man who had passed out, according to TMZ. His lawyer says he’s confirmed dead, according to a Variety report.

Born in Park Ridge, Illinois, Chuck Russell began his remarkable film career by writing screenplays and working as a production manager and assistant director for independent films. He teamed up with Frank Darabont while working as executive producer on ‘Hell Night.’ Also, he wrote the script for Joseph Ruben’s film, ‘Dreamscape.’ However, Chuck Russell made his dramatic debut with ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street 3,’ where the box office went through the roof.
