As the clock ticks down to the release of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, Marvel Studios has announced plans to bring back one of its biggest blockbusters – ‘Avengers: Endgame’ – to the screens.
‘Avengers: Endgame’ to re-release with a new title
After teasing its re-release last year and officially confirming plans to bring the film back to the big screen at CinemaCon 2026, ‘Endgame’ will officially re-release this September as ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’. According to a report by Deadline, the film will not only be released with a changed title, but will also have additional images and new scenes presented after the credits, which are said to ‘suspend’ the film to the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.Although the new title is only a small change, the release is more than just a replay of the game. Marvel is said to be presenting it as a theatrical event, designed to help set up the story of the next two films that will conclude the Multiverse Saga.
The Connection of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
However, it is not yet known how the re-release will connect the events of ‘Endgame’ and ‘Doomsday’, considering that the MCU has been growing significantly in the seven years between the two films. Most of the characters confirmed by ‘Doomsday’, including members of the Thunder team, Fantastic Four and returning people from Fox’s X-Men universe, did not take part in the events of Endgame.However, several heroes like Steve Rogers aka Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, M’Baku and Shuri, who are expected to appear in ‘Doomsday’ played an important role in defeating Thanos in Endgame.

The re-release could also see the results of the ‘Avengers’ time travel project and different stories.‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ can give the audience a new perspective on how the Avengers change the image of Thanos, which contributes to the various problems that are expected to be the cause of Doctor Doom’s chaos across time and different genres.The report also indicates that the film will be shown in theaters that have Disney’s Infinity Vision certification, which determines whether the theater meets specific standards for the size of the play, sound quality and display systems.‘Doomsday’ is slated to release on December 18.
