Nissan Tekton earns 5 stars in BNCAP pre-launch crash tests worldwide: Details

Ahead of its official debut in India, Nissan’s new Tekton has already secured a five-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). The certificate appeared on BNCAP’s website before the SUV was launched, putting crash safety information on display even before Nissan unveiled the model. The series also provided the first glimpse of the Tekton’s exterior design, revealing the SUV well in advance.

The Nissan Tekton scored 30.49 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). It scored 14.49 out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and a total of 16 out of 16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the SUV received 45 points out of 49. It scored 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test and 12 out of 12 in the implementation of the Child Restraint System (CRS), while it scored 9 out of 13 in the vehicle evaluation category. The BNCAP series also revealed the exterior design of the Tekton before its release.
