As Marvel Studios prepares for the release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, plans have already begun for the next chapter of the MCU. According to industry analyst Alex Perez, Marvel has already selected several projects as priorities after the release of ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, which concludes the Multiverse Saga.
Amazing movies in the works
Speaking at the latest Cosmic Circus Q&A, Perez said that while Benedict Cumberbatch’s ‘Doctor Strange 3’ is currently on the back burner, the studio has turned to other films such as “Black Panther 3, Shang-Chi 2, Spider-Man 5, X-Men, Thunderbolts sequel, Son Blade, and the next Midnight.”While Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed what’s going on, the report comes after Perez said last week that a new ‘Avengers’ project was on the cards, with the Russo Brothers returning to direct the film.
‘Thunder’ to return with the sequel
One of the movies that was followed to be made was “Thunderbolts”, aka ‘The New Avengers’. The film, which had a run at the box office, received positive reviews from both critics and audiences, scoring 88% from critics and 93% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Also it says it did well after the launch. Director Jake Schreier, who helmed the film, has been tapped by Marvel to helm the studio’s reboot of the X-Men, adding to speculation that the antihero team could continue to play a major role in the MCU.Several members of the Thunder cast are also expected to play a major role in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova appearing as one of the characters after her debut in ‘Black Widow’.
‘Spider-Man 5’ and ‘Shang-Chi 2’ in development
Perez also said that the fifth ‘Spider-Man’ movie is also very important. The franchise remains one of Marvel’s biggest box office hits in recent years, following a record ticket sales record. The film was supported by director Destin Daniel Cretton, who is also directing the ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ sequel, a project fans have been eagerly waiting for.
‘Blade’ and ‘Midnight Sons’ for updates
Shown on the road of rumors of Marvel are ‘Blade’ and ‘Midnight Sons’, entering the horror genre of Marvel. Marvel first announced Mahershala Ali as the MCU’s Blade in 2019, but the project was delayed several times and the production changed. Neither of the two movies have a release date.
