A player Radikaa Sarathkumar has strongly criticized the way the paparazzi and the public reacted to the funeral of veteran Tamil film star K Bhagyaraj. He said the funeral should be a time to say goodbye and not an opportunity to create social media content.

At some point, compassion should be greater than contentment.”On Monday, Radikaa also shared an insult to K Bhagyaraj on X (formerly Twitter). He said the funeral, which was supposed to be a silent farewell, turned into a drama due to the large number of people and continuous filming.

Remembering his long-time friend, Radikaa wrote, “The last farewell, for 50 years of a very special friendship, a great creator, a revolutionary writer, a person who drew amazing boundaries in Cinema, a person with whom I shared laughter, an amazing work, who stood by my family always in his silent way. He said there should be a law against paparazzi at times like this.

On her Instagram stories, she also shared a video of the funeral which showed Radikaa asking people in the crowd to stop filming. Later, he shared a video in support of the post that criticized the behavior of some viewers and paparazzi.

K Bhagyaraj died on June 27 in Chennai after suffering a heart attack. He was 73 years old. His last rites were performed with full state honors on June 28 at the Besant Nagar mortuary. Many actors and professionals from the Tamil film industry attended the funeral to pay their last respects.
