Sonakshi Sinha he has reached a point in his career where personal satisfaction is more important than the constant pursuit of work. Fresh from the acclaim he received for ‘System’, the actor says he now chooses roles that appeal to him artistically instead of taking films for external validation. Looking back on her journey, Sonakshi admitted that she is in no rush, adding that she is very happy with life even if the right notes take time to arrive.
Choosing meaningful roles has become very important
Over the past few years, Sonakshi has consciously gravitated towards more serious characters. Whether he is portraying a fearless cop in ‘Dahaad’, a judge in ‘Heeramandi’, or a lawyer in Ahwiny Iyer Tiwari’s ‘System’, the actor believes that his choices now reflect his maturity.In an interview with HT City, when asked if the shift to strong female-led stories was intentional, Sonakshi replied, “One hundred percent. I think it’s going well with every project I choose because now I’m just looking at what gives me joy and satisfaction as an actor. There have been many projects throughout my career and I’ve always had regrets. To please others or for different reasons.”
Sonakshi says that she is not forced to continue working
The artist explained that his attitude towards work has changed a lot over the years. Instead of signing jobs just to keep busy, he now waits for stories that really resonate with him. If this opportunity does not come immediately, he is free to go back and enjoy his life.Explaining her perspective, Sonakshi said, “I’m at a point where I’m self-motivated, I’m just doing what makes me happy. Otherwise, I will have a very satisfying life. “If I don’t get the kind of work I want to do, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life and I’m always shaking.”

Sonakshi’s latest project, ‘System’, was recently premiered on the platform and has received positive response from viewers. The actor didn’t hide his excitement as he talked about teaming up with director Ahwiny Iyer Tiwari and co-stars Jyotika and Ashutosh Gowariker.Expressing his gratitude, he shared, “I’m so happy for the whole team. It just feels amazing to be a part of something so amazing. I keep telling Ashwiny too, that we’ve done something we can be proud of. I’m so happy to have shared it with him, with Jyotika, with Ashutosh. It’s been an amazing journey.”
Comparisons with Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet surprised her
During the promotion of ‘System’, director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari compared Sonakshi to Hollywood legends Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet, a compliment that left the actress smiling and humbled.Recalling what she did, Sonakshi said: “I called him and said, ‘You’ve put a lot of pressure on me! But obviously, it feels weird when your directors think that. Especially when you’re not trying to be someone, but you’re being compared to someone you love and admire so much. All these actors are amazing. For my director to call me that, I’m happy.”

Away from work, Sonakshi revealed that the hot weather has completely changed her wardrobe. Previously known for her preference for dark shades, she now prefers breathable fabrics and light colors to beat the heat.Talking about her style choices, she said, “Flats, cotton shirts, loose clothes. I think this summer especially, it’s important. It’s more important than anything else. And even my color choices have changed because of the heat and this kind of weather. I always like to wear black.” Now I’m leaning towards pastels, and all the blues and whites are coming out of my room. I used to wear black a lot, but I guess in this season you can’t. I was forced to change.”With the accolades of ‘System’ and her choice of projects increasing, Sonakshi Sinha seems to be very interested in her numbers as she waits for roles that challenge and inspire her.
