Dylan Meyer talks about ‘The Wrong Girls’ project
Director Dylan Meyer, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, talked about his character and his experience making it. He said, “Frankie and Molly are bonkers people who have spent the last 10 years happily in the weed, co-signing each other’s bad decisions and checking the ever-increasing phone numbers.”‘The Wrong Girls’ has been in the works for a while now, and Stewart serving as one of the authors. The actress also recently launched her film “The Chronology of Water”.Speaking about how the film came to be, Meyer added that “Wrong Girls was born out of my relationship with my best friend and co-creator Maggie McLean, the baby I couldn’t do anything without.” She added, “It’s a love letter to troubled women and the important relationships that inspire them. Troubled Girls may have big cats, battered Danes, talking cats, and supernatural powers, but the emotional story and action is the real memoir.”Stewart had also opened up about the project and how he hoped people would like the comedy. Speaking to Interview magazine in 2023, the actress teased the project, saying, “Dylan and I are writing a movie. It’s a rock girl comedy, and it’s really silly. I think you’re going to like it.”In the news, Meyer and Stewart have been together for seven years now. The couple also tied the knot in April 2025.
The ‘Wrong Girls’ Plot
The plot revolves around two aimless drug addicts who are exposed to an experimental drug. After eating, however, the two have telepathic abilities with each other and their cats. Due to a mistaken identity, the two are thrust into a world of danger as a dangerous enemy is also looking for the same drug they have.Along with Stewart and Shawkat, the film also stars Seth Rogen, Geena Davis, LaKeith Stanfield, Kumail Nanjiani, Zack Fox, and Tony Hale. It is expected to be released on August 14, 2026.
