Prabhas has opened up about the emotional toll that followed the incredible success of ‘Baahubali.’ Although ‘Baahubali’ made him a star of Pan-India fame, the actor admitted that the time of its release was difficult for him. Speaking in the documentary of ‘Baahubali – The Torchbearer,’ Prabhas said that the film changed the scope of his career, making every future project more important to him. He described this period as one of the most difficult stages of his professional journey.
Prabhas says the success of ‘Baahubali’ kept him awake for years
Recalling the pressure of choosing his next film, Prabhas said, “I couldn’t sleep well for two or three years after ‘Baahubali.’ The level of responsibility in every department suddenly increased a thousandfold. Those were the most stressful years of my life after ‘Baahubali’.” He explained that the team explored several ideas before finalizing its next project. “We asked ourselves what should happen. Should it be another blockbuster film like ‘Baahubali’ or something? Prashant Neel and It’s Ashwin,” he revealed.
‘Baahubali’ opened the doors of big films and big budgets
Prabhas also praised ‘Baahubali’ for changing the way he works in finance. He added that Saaho collected around Rs 26 crore in North India on its opening day, which he believed was due to the goodwill generated by ‘Baahubali.’ The actor said that the blockbuster made it possible to bag high-budget films like ‘Saaho,’ ‘Radhe Shyam,’ ‘Salaar,’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD.’ Before ‘Baahubali,’ he explained, most of his films were made on a budget between Rs 20 crore and Rs 40 crore.
The actor is thankful for the blockbuster that changed his career
Looking back, Prabhas said it was the stress that led to the big opportunities that defined the next phase of his career. He described Baahubali as the foundation that made sensational films like ‘Salaar’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ possible. Both of these ventures were commercial successes, which further cemented his reputation as one of India’s most prominent artists. The compelling story of ‘Baahubali’ took a toll on Prabhas, but he feels the film opened doors for his future success.
