Actor R Madhavan received the award for Padma Shrione of the highest civilian honors in India, conferred by the President Draupadi Murmu at the second fundraising event held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on June 23. His wife Sarita Madhavan and son Vedaant Madhavan joined him at the event. The actress chose a classy navy blue dress for the occasion. But his watch was very impressive. The actress sported a Jalsa Nebula by Titan in 18-karat rose gold. It has a small stone carving inspired by the Hawa Mahal of Jaipur. This is a limited edition watch worth Rs 40 lakhs and only 10 pieces of it are available worldwide. Following the event, Madhavan shared a heartfelt message on social media, expressing his appreciation for the recognition and reflecting on his journey in cinema.He began by writing, “I am deeply humbled and deeply grateful and honored to be awarded the Padma Shri. It is my heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India for bestowing upon me the highest honor of the common people of our country. I am also grateful to the Government of Maharashtra for honoring my name and putting their faith in my retirement.” The actor went on to thank his audience for their unwavering support over the years, saying, “To every person who watched my films, embraced my people, celebrated my success, forgave my mistakes, and stood by me over the years – this honor is yours as much as it is mine.Reflecting on the responsibility that comes with the honor, Madhavan added, “Today I also feel a sense of responsibility. This realization reminds me that every opportunity comes with a great responsibility – maintaining integrity, humility, and excellence; a clear contribution to the film world that gave me everything; and to serve my country in any way I can.”At the end of his message, he paid tribute to his loved ones and colleagues. “I pay this tribute to the magical world of cinema, to every actor and artist who has traveled with me and my family who have been my strength… From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
