Madhavan revealed that he took the project very seriously and spent a lot of time preparing it.“The issue was the future of India regarding the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in terms of growth, in IT and the economic sector. Therefore, I did not ask him personal or unrelated questions. My questions were related to economic growth and the growth of IT in India and ASEAN countries,” he said.As big as the event was, there were a few light moments. Before the episode, Murthy had said that his wife, a writer and philanthropist Sudha Murtyhe was a great admirer of Madhavan. During the interview, Murthy turned on the interviewer and asked him several questions.Recalling the moment, Madhavan said, “He wanted to know who I loved the most. He asked the question in front of my wife (Sarita Birje)! I told him very confidently that my favorite heroine of all time will be the heroine of my first film, Alai Payuthey. This is Shalini. Ajith and Shalini are my best friends even today. “Then the conversation turned to their lives, especially their marriages. Madhavan revealed that he and Murthy found a happy connection through their wives.“Then, he asked me how I met my wife. It seems that his wife, Sudha Murty, and my wife share a lot, both Maharashtrians. They both come from the same village. Narayana Murthy and I are called ‘in-laws of Kolhapur!'”Although Madhavan didn’t ask himself many questions, there was one aspect of Murthy’s life that intrigued him – the undying love between him and Sudha Murty.“I thought he and Sudha Murty looked madly in love even now. I asked him, despite being one of the richest and most successful people in the country, how he still has an affair with his wife. His answer on romance… I don’t dare repeat it now, because I want to use it in my movie. I have never heard of love expressed so professionally,” he said. What started out as a discussion about finance and technology eventually turned into a lively exchange filled with admiration, humor, and personal stories, providing a rare glimpse into the personalities of Madhavan and Narayana Murthy. On the professional front, Madhavan was recently seen as a director Aditya Dhar‘Dhurandhar’ (2025), starring Ranveer Singh, and its sequel, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (2026).
