Toyota Kirloskar Motor today finally launched the next generation Toyota Hilux in the Indian market. The pickup continues to use the IMV ladder-frame platform and is offered only in the Double Cab body type. The 2026 Toyota Hilux is offered in three variants – the entry-level GX 4×2 AT priced at Rs 31.99 lakh, followed by the GX 4×4 AT at Rs 33.69 lakh. The top-of-the-line VX 4×4 AT is priced at Rs 36.69 lakh (all prices were ex-showroom). Interested customers can book their deliveries online or visit their nearest location, with deliveries starting in the second week of August.In terms of design, the updated Hilux features a redesigned front end with small LED headlights, a honeycomb grille with the familiar ‘TOYOTA’ lettering, and a redesigned bumper with black inserts, LED fog lights and a silver skid plate. The sides feature black fenders, fenders, side steps, adjustable ORVMs and lights, a shark-fin antenna and new 17-inch wheels.
At the rear, the pickup receives LED tail lamps with C-shaped lighting, ‘TOYOTA’ lettering across the tailgate and a bumper with an integrated step for easy access to the cargo bed. Available in six colors: Sulfur Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red and Super White.Moving inside, the Hilux has a new dashboard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch instrument cluster, along with a new steering wheel with Toyota lettering. The list of features includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, connected car technology, cruise control, ventilated front seats, 8-speaker audio system, rear storage with cup holders, PM 2.5 air filter, 360-degree camera and Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes.The cabin uses a mixture of leatherette and hard plastics, while the physical controls have been retained for the main functions. Compared to the international model, the India-spec Hilux does not get ADAS, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster or dual-zone automatic climate control. Instead, it comes with a 7-inch instrument display and air conditioning. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with Brake Assist, front and rear parking sensors, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat mounts.Talking about the powertrain, the Hilux is powered by the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 204hp and 500Nm. It comes mated to a torque-six-speed-converter automatic gearbox. Toyota has also introduced a four-wheel-drive model (4×2) along with four models (4×4). The 4×4 model continues with a low-speed transmission, electric power lock, multiple terrain modes, adaptive cruise control, cruise control and a limited-slip differential.
