In recent years, ‘Ted Lasso’ is one of the Jason Sudeikis‘ popular and highly watched shows. Although the series has created a lot of excitement with its release, did you know that a Hollywood star almost refused to work on the series’ next season? In one of his recent interviews, Sudeikis admitted that at first, he was on the verge of turning down the Stage 4 proposal when it came across his desk.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sudeikis revealed that he felt that his character’s story had already been told, and that he didn’t want to change everything in the new season. Reflecting on the story, he said, “That was not the way to talk. The story was told. Ted went home. [to Kansas City] to be with his son. I wasn’t going to let Ted take their lives to justify the money car. It didn’t make sense to me.”Sudeikis added that money was not an issue. According to the report, Sudeikis will receive $1 million for every episode he has worked on through the third season of the beloved show. However, what made him change his mind were the fans. He shared that he saw how the work and the show affected people around the world, and that he had to re-enter the list because of it all. He added, “It (the show) saved me too.”Sudekis also said, “It’s contagious to play someone who sees the good in people and isn’t mad at the world because of all its weaknesses and abusers and shadows. It’s not like me Daniel Day-Lewis, but it was good to be in it – to have that coursing through your brain and your body all day. It still is. That’s what some people need.”

The series follows the story of an American football coach, Ted Lasso, who has no knowledge of football; however, he is still employed as a coach for the British football team. The fourth season is set to focus on Lasso as she coaches an all-female sports team. The trailer for the new season is out now. The fourth season will premiere on August 5, 2026.
