Chaya KadamThe National Award winning actor, is showing off his mesmerizing look in the upcoming comedy ‘Bhootam Bhayam’. His first look, from a film written and directed by Ramchandra Arun Gaonkar, portraying a malevolent, piercing ghost-like character, combines the horrors of ancient mythology with the lighthearted and humorous moments of the movie.
Why did this person draw you to this project?
In an interview with Variety India, Chhaya spoke about her character, although the makers are keeping the plot under wraps. Kadam shared that her unique appearance immediately drew her to work. He explained, “This is a story of friendship between young children, so I had no doubt that it would be strong. As an actor, I insist on doing something different with each role. This is something I listen to. Ramchandra described a person from another country. His looks, speech and laughter – everything was unique. He said that his language will be very rude. So I knew that I had to learn more and do more things, which I have always loved.”
Do not identify yourself in the form test
The director gave him a rough idea of what the character would look like, but Kadam says he didn’t plan on the final look. He told me, “He gave me an idea of what the character would look like, and that’s why I needed him. But to be honest, even at that time I didn’t know how I would look when I was completely ready. But when I saw myself in the appearance test, I didn’t recognize myself. So, I felt very good.”
