‘Satluj’s 9.5 level is missing
When we checked the aggregator’s website on Wednesday afternoon, ratings were readily available for other recent releases like Akshay Kumar’s “Welcome To The Jungle”. However, 9.5 votes of ‘Satluj’ called ‘Panjab’95’ were missing. The video has been at the center of huge controversies ever since it was uploaded last week on Zee5, but it was taken down within two days. Before this, Honey Trehan’s directorial had already been in limbo for years, with the Censor Board initially asking for 127 cuts. Both Honey and Trehan refused to have their names associated with the film as even a single cut.
‘Satluj’ author Niren Bhatt on a rare level
Talking to HT City, the writer of ‘Satluj Niren Bhatt, said that he does not know how or why the rating disappeared, “Film kab aane wali thi, kab chali gayi humein pata nahi chala. Ab yeh IMDb rating ka… kisko problem tha, kya problem tha, koi communication hi nahi.” (We didn’t know when the movie will be released or if it will be downloaded. And now about this IMDb rating… who had the problem, what was the problem, there was no interview. )
Sanjay Gupta comments on cancellation of ‘Satluj’ polls
Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta also commented on the sudden cancellation of the film, sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) this Wednesday. Expressing his doubts, he pointed out that the film had a 9.5 stellar rating just one day before its release. Gupta noted that while he has never relied on or relied on digital integration metrics, this experience is proof of how fictitious and unreliable they can be.
‘Satluj piracy is on the rise
‘Satluj’ director Diljit Dosanjh did an Instagram Live session after being fired from ZEE5 on Sunday. During the meeting, he urged people to be able to publish the links of the film if they have already downloaded it, saying that it is no longer possible to stop the film from being published. The OTT platform later shared a statement on social media, asking viewers to wait until the platform brings the film, and urging them not to consume copies of ‘Satluj’ right now.
