AIIMS, New Delhi announces faculty recruitment results for 460 vacancies through secure blockchain technology ensuring transparency

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has announced the selection results for over 460 vacant faculty posts in over 50 disciplines. The appointments range from Assistant Professor to Professor positions at AIIMS New Delhi and AIIMS-Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS) Maidan Garhi Campus, New Delhi.The recruitment exercise lasted six months and used blockchain digital technology to ensure confidentiality and maintain transparency throughout the selection process. According to AIIMS, the technology-driven system can prepare the final list of winners with minimal human involvement while supporting timely declaration of results.Recruitment covers hundreds of teaching vacanciesThe recruitment process includes 265 faculty posts at AIIMS New Delhi and 199 faculty posts at AIIMS-CAPFIMS campus. More than 3,200 candidates applied for these positions, covering more than 50 academic and clinical disciplines.These vacancies include appointments at multiple academic levels, starting with Assistant Professor and extending up to Professor. The event is one of the institution’s largest faculty recruitment efforts in recent years and spans a broad range of teaching and health care professions.Blockchain technology used during the selection processAIIMS said that blockchain digital technology has been integrated into the recruitment process to ensure confidentiality and transparency. As part of the system, candidates’ scores are digitally locked using a one-time password to protect the integrity of the assessment record.The agency said the final transcript is generated by software using security tags and predefined algorithms. No human intervention is involved in the process of preparing a merit list unless relationships must be resolved. Automated processes also help publish selection results more quickly.Faculty appointments expected to strengthen institutional capacityAccording to AIIMS, the recruitment is expected to increase faculty availability in participating institutions. These appointments will provide support to the academic departments at AIIMS New Delhi and AIIMS-CAPFIMS campuses.The addition of new faculty is expected to enhance patient care services, teaching activities and research across the institution, the institute said. With the recruitment process completed and results announced, the selected candidates will fill long-term vacancies across multiple subject areas, increasing the academic and clinical workforce across both campuses.
