Aamir Khan marries Gauri Spratt at 61: Here’s everything you need to know about their 13-year gap and love story

Veteran Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has entered a new phase in his life. On Sunday, the actor tied the knot with his ex-girlfriend Gauri Spratt in an intimate ceremony held at their Bandra residence in Mumbai. Instead of a lavish reception, the couple opted for a private registry with only close family and a handful of friends.

The 13-year age difference between the newlyweds

Aamir Khan, born on March 14, 1965, is 61 years old, while Gauri Spratt, whose birthday falls on August 21, 1978, is 47 years old. The two share a 13-year age difference. Their relationship, however, is built on a connection that goes back decades rather than a recent acquaintance.Aamir and Gauri crossed paths almost 25 years ago, but romance was not part of the equation then. Their lives took separate paths until fate brought them together again in 2024 through Aamir’s cousin, Nuzhat Khan, in Bengaluru. After reuniting, the two spent nearly a year in a long-distance relationship before making things official. Aamir finally introduced Gauri to the world at her 60th birthday celebrations in March 2025, calling her his “friend” and ending months of controversy surrounding her lifestyle.Soon, Gauri moved from Bengaluru to Mumbai along with her son from her previous marriage. Around the same time, he quit his job at a hair care company and joined Aamir Khan Productions, which recently celebrated 25 years.

An intimate wedding celebration

The wedding ceremony was deliberately kept out of sight. Aamir’s children, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan, from his first marriage with Reena Dutta, were among the family members present at the event. The guest list also included filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, who collaborated with Aamir on ‘Lagaan’, along with actress Elli AvrRam, making the festival more collaborative than star-studded.

Aamir Khan’s marriages over the years

This is Aamir Khan’s third family. She was earlier married to filmmaker Kiran Rao, whom she met while working on the Oscar-nominated film ‘Lagaan’, where she acted as an assistant director. The couple got married in December 2005 and later welcomed their son, Azad Rao Khan, through surrogacy in 2011.Although Aamir and Kiran announced their separation in 2021 after 16 years of marriage, they have maintained a good relationship. Over the years, both have described each other as best friends and have continued to co-parent with Azad while working together professionally on various projects.
