Director Sudha Kongara has sued the makers of his latest movie ‘Parasakthi’ for not paying him full salary as per the contract. The Director presented the case to Madras High Court said that the production company still owes Rs 8.39 crore despite several demands. Madras High Court hears plea, suspends ‘Parasakthi’ satellite deal
As reported by the Bar and Bench, Sudha Kongara’s petition alleges that the production company failed to pay her dues despite repeated follow-ups, leaving her with no choice but to seek legal recourse. After hearing the matter, the Madras High Court ordered that no activities or satellite deals related to ‘Parasakthi’ should take place till 8th July. The order will remain in effect until a court hears the case, making it the largest of its kind in the ongoing dispute.
The director also wants to ban the release of ‘ Idhayam Murali ‘
Sudha Kongara also sought legal intervention in another project sponsored by the same banner, ‘Idhayam Murali.’ In his complaint, he asked the court to stay the release of the film on July 10 until his payment is cleared. The director has said that the producers of the film should not be allowed to continue releasing another film when the money they are paying for his contract is not paid.
Companies are waiting for July 8 in the high-profile case
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for July 8, and its outcome is expected to play a major role in deciding the fate of ‘Idhayam Murali.’ The court’s decision will determine whether the ban imposed on satellite rights is still in effect and whether other laws will be issued regarding the release of the film in the near future.
