Ajay Devgn’s ‘Chauhaan’ in TROUBLE; Kshatriya Parishad condemns ‘distribution of Chauhan family: ‘We reject any attempt’

Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film ‘Chauhaan’ has found itself at the center of yet another controversy. Soon after the actor drew criticism for portraying the Kashmir conflict, the film is now facing criticism from the Kshatriya Parishad. The organization has criticized those who misrepresent the Rajput history and its history, saying that the heritage of the Chauhan tribe is being dragged by the current political issues.

The Kshatriya Parishad refuses to use the Chauhan identity

In a scathing statement shared on social media, the Kshatriya Parishad condemned what it described as “an instrument of Rajput history and exploitation of Rajput identities.” The organization said the Chauhan line is an important part of India’s history and should not be used “for decisions or opinions.”It added, “Chauhans are a well-known Rajput (Kshatriya) dynasty whose heritage lies in history, not in public appeals or media controversies.”The organization also expressed concern over repeated attempts to identify Rajputs in political division disputes. Calling the development “deeply regrettable,” it said, “at a time when the Rajput voice is still not represented in the media and public discourse, using the name of the Rajput tribe to provoke, anger and confuse people, or to start political protests is disrespectful and disrespectful.”

The organization cites past examples

Questioning what he called a simple interpretation of Indian history, the Parishad said that the political unity of the time could not be seen by the general public. It cited several historical examples to support its contention, saying, “Mahmud Lodi fought under Maharana Sanga in the Battle of Khanwa; Hakim Khan Sur commanded Maharana Pratap’s army at Haldighati; Farid Khan, who later became Sher Shah Suri, is traditionally associated with the army under Raja Raisal Shekhawat and Mahara Shekhawat fighting his first battle; with Lodi’s army in the First Battle of Panipat.”The statement added, “These stories show that the political alliances of the past were built on skill, loyalty, and military tactics – not on the issues presented today.”Reiterating the organization’s stance, the organization said, “The Kshatriya Parishad rejects any attempt to use Rajput history or appropriate Rajput symbols for election purposes or ideology. Historical memory should not be used as a tool to mobilize people. We call on politicians, filmmakers, and media organizations to engage with India’s past, to honor the past and not use Rajput history as fodder for political controversy.

The actor had already come under fire

This is not the first controversy surrounding ‘Chauhaan’. The actor has previously criticized some of the discussions and the portrayal of the Kashmir conflict, with many users questioning his messages. One of the most controversial moments was the debate over the fact that pellet guns only cause “minimal damage.” The statement drew a lot of attention, including actress Swara Bhasker, who criticized the film’s treatment of the issue.Sharing a story about the effects of pellet guns, Swara wrote, “Is this what you want to glorify Bollywood?! Pellet guns are not ‘minor damage,’ they are a violation of human rights. And most Kashmiris are not Pathaans. Kuch toh research kar liya karo yaar. And look at Goebbels while you’re at it!” He accompanied the post with the caption, “The Vivek Agnihotri-fication of Bollywood.”Ajay Devgn’s words in the teaser, “Tell the Pathans, Chauhaan is coming,” also became an internet sensation. Several observers said that the discussion portrayed Muslims in a negative light as it used the Rajput identity to create a larger political narrative.
