Filmmaker Shailendra Singh recently shared an unforgettable story about touching Salman Khanrecalling an evening spent at the actor’s Galaxy Apartments home where he casually spotted her getting her hair done while enjoying a bowl of biryani.Shailendra visited one of their regular Monday night meetings years ago. He recalled that when he arrived at Salman’s house for a gathering, he noticed one of the actor’s unusual habits—eating his food while looking in the mirror.“I went to Salman for a meeting at his place in Galaxy Apartments. In those days, we used to have parties on Monday nights. He was sitting at the dining table, eating, and looking at himself in the mirror. He used to eat while looking in the mirror. There’s a small table in the kitchen with a mirror in front, so you’re sitting next to him, but you’re talking through the mirror,” he said in an interview with Cyrus Broacha. The producer said that things took a turn for the worse when a man entered the room carrying medical equipment and started treating Salman without interrupting the conversation.“He’s sitting there eating biryani – you know Salman, he enjoys his food, especially after he’s had a little drink. All of a sudden, this weird-looking guy walks in, wearing gloves, pulls out a needle and starts poking it in his head. I’m looking at all this in the mirror and I’m thinking, ‘What the f* is going on here?’Wanting to know what he was witnessing, Shailendra asked Salman, who calmly explained how he did it.“He just said, ‘There’s a price to pay to be a star, bro.’ He continued to eat while the treatment continued.”Shailendra later found out that Salman was receiving Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment, a treatment used to promote hair growth using plasma taken from human blood.“At the time, I didn’t know what it was. I think everyone is doing it now—Hrithik does it, everyone does it. As you get older and your hair starts to recede, you have to do it.”This is not the first time that Shailendra has opened up about his relationship with Salman. Earlier this year, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, he spoke about knowing the actor before he became one of Bollywood’s biggest stars.According to Shailendra, the two became friends during their days at Cuffe Parade, where Salman used to go to meet his girlfriend, Shaheen Jaffery. While explaining that the actor was generous by nature, he also reflected on how the people around Salman have changed over the years.“Salman and I used to go back to Cuffe Parade, where I used to live. He used to come there to meet his first girlfriend, Shaheen Jaffery. Salman’s problem is that he has a heart. He is a wonderful guy, but the company he keeps is unusual,” said Shailendra.He also shared his thoughts on how fame has changed Salman’s life, saying that success has made the actor more cautious.“Salman is a tiger, but now he is a tamer. He was born in the jungle; now he is a tiger in the zoo. Success makes you cautious, even fearful. Then people surround you, always telling you that you are the boss and everyone else is wrong.Looking back on their relationship, Shailendra revealed that they had a habit of hanging out on Monday nights during Salman’s senior years.“For three years, Salman and I had a ritual. Every Monday night, we would have a party in Bandra,” recalled Shailendra.The producer also talked about how their relationship ended in the end. He said that he approached Salman with the commercial film ‘Captain’, hoping to get a deal, but the meeting left him disappointed as several other people were invited for talks.“Our friendship was very strong, so I went to him and said that I want to do this film with him – a commercial project. But when I went to meet him, he invited several people to a meeting. That was my last meeting with Salman. I felt very insulted,” said Shailendra.
